Some basic concepts of Inverse Trigonometry:

1). To map real numbers back to angles.

2). An inverse of the sine function is denoted by arc sin(x).

Domain: [-1,1]

Range: [-π/2, π/2]

It is also called the principal branch range.

4). The graph of arc sin(x) is obtained from sin(x) by interchanging x and y-axes.

5). Graph of the arc sin(x) is the mirror image of sin(x) with the axis of symmetry is y=x.

6). Inverse of cos(x) is denoted by arc cos(x).

Domain: [-1,1]

Range : [0,π]

It is also called principal branch range.

7). arc tan(x)

Domain : Real Number

Range: (-π/2, π/2)

It is also principal branch range.

8). arc sec(x)

Domain: R -(-1, 1)

Range: [0, π] -{ π/2}

9).arc cosec(x)

Domain : R -(-1, 1)

Range: [-π/2, π/2]-{0}

10). arc cot(x)

Domain: R

Range: (0, π)

Here R denotes real number and range mentioned is principal branch range.

(a) read NCERT text Books thoroughly and point out the queries

(b) practise a decent mcq book

**Experience is the mother/father/great grandfather/mother of Education.**

It is a 4 step guide to build willpower and focus on taking action consistently. And taking action is the key to success when you are studying something on your own.

**THE 4-STEP GUIDE:**

**- Define your outcome:** This is where you set your goal. You need to define your purpose clearly before you start.

Just defining your goal isn’t all that enough. You need to build willpower for the same. Without willpower, you will lose motivation aft8er a while. So ask yourself:

**Why do I want to study this?**

What are the painful feelings and experiences I will have to go through if I don’t follow upon? ( Simple Tip: Attach as strong painful feelings as possible)

What are the pleasure feelings I could experience if I complete ___ and achieve my goal? ( Simple Tip: Attach as intense feelings of pleasure as possible)**- Take action:** This is where experience plays into your self-study journey. Once you have set your outcome, you start to take action because you have to. By now you know that it is going to be painful if you don’t go through and achieve your outcome.

And you also know that achieving your outcome has immense pleasure and happiness. The fruit of success is more pleasurable than the pain of working hard

Review your progress: At this stage, you are doing better than 95% of the people around you. You have a definite outcome in mind. You are working hard, and you have a significant focus on achieving your goal.

However, it's quite important to keep reviewing your progress.

Are you progressing more quickly than you anticipated?

Are you progressing slowly? A why so?

Enjoy your success: Nothing comes better than succeeding in a self-study program.

It is straightforward t achieve something when you have a tutor or a guide pushing you, reminding you about your task and setting daily/weekly goals for you.

But when you achieve your self-study goal, It shows your strength as a person. Willpower, grit, dedication and focus.

It becomes real-life evidence of your learning and growing as a person.

You set yourself daily goals.

You motivated yourself to achieve your goal.

You took action.

You flexed your strategy when you were off-track.

**Vector quantity:** Those quantities which have both, as well as direction, are called vector quantities. For instance Force, weight, displacement, acceleration.

Scalar quantities are Sony added and multiplied by the law of algebra, but vectors are added and multiplied by special law of vectors.

**Note:** Note electric current though has direction but does not obey the law of addition of vectors, so it is also a scalar quantity.

To find maximum and minimum value of a given function.

Differentiate the function first and then find the values of x at which the function becomes zero these are the possible points of Maximum and minimum values of the function then apply any of the following test

(1) 1st derivative test: If at any of the above values of x dy/dX changes its sign from +ve to -ve then that is a point of local Maxima.

And if dy/dX changes sign from -ve to +ve that is a point of local minima.

(2) 2nd derivative test: Find the 2nd derivative and put the above values of x obtained if it comes -ve that is a point of local Maxima and if it comes +ve that's a point of local minima.

Note: there can be more than 1 point of local Maxima and Minima

Global Maximum and Minimum: put all the values of x obtained in the function and check which one is largest, that value correspond to Global Maxima and that vale is global maximum. Similarly check for Global minima.
