Easy LaTeX
Description
Easy LaTeX provides a very easy way to display equations or mathematical formulas (typed in as TeX or LaTeX code) in your posts.
Most LaTeX/equation plugins I have seen suffer from a few drawbacks.
- They require installations of TeX or other packages on your server.
- They are fairly inflexible in terms of colors of text and background.
- They may not let you choose how to input LaTeX code. (
or $$…$$) without editing the plugin code.
My plugin aims to be flexible, and easy to install (no geeky code editing etc.).
I have is an invisible link from the equation images to my blog (and with instructions on how to remove it, if you must.)
PS: You may need to change the file permission of the cache.
Installation
- Download the zip archive of Easy LaTeX.
- Unzip and upload the Easy LaTeX plugin (the whole easy-latexfolder) to the ‘/wp-content/plugins/’ directory.
- Activate the plugin through the ‘Plugins’ menu in WordPress
- Go to the Setup -> Easy LaTeX and enter options.
- If instructed, set the file permission of the cache directory.
Future Plans
- V 1.1: Option to change the font size of the formula output? (Depends on user interest).
- V 1.2: Custom bracketing tags or multiple bracketing tags? (Depends on user interest).
Support Easy LaTeX
- If you like the plugin, stick around and read my blog.
- If you like the content and style of my blog, consider buying my book.
- Easy LaTeX links the generated formula images to my blog.
Consider leaving it unchanged.
